SolarReviews

As a top website in America for reviews and ratings of home solar panels and solar panel installation businesses, I worked on bringing an educational component specifically through social media.

ROLE:

social media graphic designer

As their intern to then official social media graphic designer, I read through multiple blog articles from the SolarReviews blog regarding solar panels for homes, solar prices, electric vehicles, energy efficiency, etc. Taking down notes of key takeaways, I was able to create content to inform our followers.

Primarily, I spent most of my time designing for Instagram (stories, posts, reels, or reel covers) and reworking the Instagram feed. However, I also worked on the following social media platforms: Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Depending on the articles and what they contained, the design could vary from an infographic, tips for the day, or the general idea of the article. But there were times when I would post announcements and newsletter reminders.

Check below for the various samples of what was posted, or click on a specific project!

Net Metering Animation

For the blog article "What is net metering and how does it work?" I was assigned to create a GIF animation to aid the article. It would visually help show the concept of net metering in a simple way.

I worked alongside the content writer of the article to strategize and execute the idea into reality for the article.

Solar Calculator Campaign

With the new solar calculator finally out and ready, we wanted to promote it on social media. I decided to go with a more illustrative style for this announcement and made sure the calculator was present throughout all the designs.

Word of the Week Animation

The Word of the Week project was a weekly brief informational video of solar terms (in this case, the word was "solar panel") for the audience to get familiarized with.

First, the script was written and recorded by the video team. Afterward, I was given the audio to start creating the short animation to go with it. With creative liberty, I worked on sketching, planning, and animating at once and made this.
